14 Rounds of Picking: Our Coffee Picking Season is winding down!
Our Cherry Hopper holds 600 pounds: Look at THAT color!
Here on our high elevation farm at 2000 feet, we count our season from one August to the next. We still have one round to go, but have already exceeded our most optimistic crop yield expectations. We are one of only about 50 Certified Kona Coffee Estates (out of 750 farms). As you may know, we have always been a completely poison free farm, and we employ only
100% Organic Practices, including fertilizers and nutrient sprays, as well as pest control. There are only about 30 farms in Kona that have such high standards. We grow'em slowly, but boy, they come in as the largest and densest beans in the Coffee Belt. We pick all by hand when they are fully sun-ripened (that's why we have so many rounds). We process within hours in our own mill, here on Lyman Farms. After drying on our deck, we store the "parchment beans" in our own climate controlled container. You can't do it better: we pamper your coffee during every step! Meanwhile, we continue our march towards becoming a "certified" Organic Coffee Farm.We can’t wait either, but the certification process must run its slow and proper course. Meanwhile, we will continue to produce the most pampered coffee in the world. It's also known as the "Champagne of Coffees -- MADE IN USA".
Eckerts move into their New House
Karen celebrates our New House; New House viewed from our Coffee Orchard.
After five years of residence in the BnB, we are finally moving (200 yards) into our own residence. It seemed that there was always one more slow and picky inspector to go, but we are finally done!

Although our fertilizer and energy costs (and much else) have nearly doubled, we are NOT increasing our pricing -- we are STILL at our 2006 price levels!
